Visitor Requirements & What to Bring
Dog visiting for R.E.P.S, boarding, or the Splash Park must:
Be familiar with training.
Our community works hard to achieve great pet behavior. Your dog must meet certain criteria to join us, be in training with us, or have graduated, in order to visit for R.E.P.S. or Stay & Play Boarding. We encourage families to bring their dogs in at least once a month to keep them acclimated to the facility and help them maintain good behavior.
Be in good health.
Please do not bring a sick dog. This compromises the health of all of the other dogs staying with us.
Be at least 3 months old.
The Puppy Package is automatically added to any reservation for a pup under the age of 8 months. This includes extra potty breaks, extra attention, and a frozen Kong to facilitate the transition from play time to a rest period. We always aim to set our puppies up to grow into great adults!
Have acclimated to your home.
If you’ve recently rescued a dog, we require that they spend 3 weeks away from the shelter or the streets before they join us at the ranch. During this time period, they will also need to be seen by their own vet, not the shelter vet. This gives rescues a chance to heal from the stress of their old lives and ensures that visiting us is a positive experience.
Be current on vaccinations.
We require Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, and Leptospirosis vaccinations. When given for the first time, Leptospirosis has two wait periods — one after the initial shot and one after the booster. Dogs receiving this shot for the first time may have to wait up to four weeks before they are able to visit us. Your vet will be able to provide you with a specific timeline.
A clean fecal exam result, recent within the year, must be on file at all times. We highly recommend requesting that your vet tests for Giardia alongside the parasite exam.
Bordetella is not required. There is a 7 day waiting period if the Bordetella vaccine was recently given.
Canine Influenza is not required at this time, but is highly recommended, especially if your pet travels to other areas of the state or country.
Be current on a monthly flea & tick preventive.
For the health and safety of the other dogs, flea collars are not permitted. Please do not apply topical flea/tick medications before bringing your dog to play with us. While you may have applied it in a place your pet cannot reach themselves, other dogs and staff members may be unsafely exposed to it.
Be leashed upon arrival.
Dogs must remain on leash until they have entered the drop-off area and the gate has been closed and locked behind them. All collars, harnesses, and other equipment will then be removed. We do not allow prong, choke, or shock collars at the facility.
What to bring for your dog’s boarding stay:
Please label items clearly with your dog’s first and last name. We do our best to return all items, but cannot guarantee that they will be returned in the same shape in which they were left with us.
Your dog’s food.
If your dog eats raw or any other special diet, please package their food in individual pre-measured servings labeled with your dog’s name.
Please DO NOT bring us your dog’s entire bag of dog food or your large plastic food container. We do not have the room to store it all.
Please re-bag what your dog will need, plus an extra day, in large ziplocks or put in single serving bags labeled with your dog’s name. DO NOT bring any bowls or food dishes. We provide stainless steel bowls for your dog’s visit. Exceptions are made for slow-feed bowls, again labeled with your dogs name.
Any medication needed (administration fee applies).
All medication, both prescription and OTC, must be in the original container, labeled with what the medication is, the dosage required, and your dog’s first and last name. We require this information for identification to ensure the safety and well-being of every dog in our care when medications are on the premises. Please include any measuring devices, if relevant.
Only supplements may be included in your dog’s food. All prescription and OTC medication must be administered directly. If you include supplements in your dog’s food, please separate each serving into an individual baggie labeled with your dog’s name and whether it is for the AM or PM feeding, if different. We do not charge an administration fee for supplements included in the food.
DO NOT bring large stuffed or foam beds, or elevated beds from home.
We can provide an orthopedic elevated bed at your request and elevated beds are included in all of our boarding add-on packages. We also provide bedding to dogs who do not chew or destroy blankets and towels.
Optional – A crate mat, light blanket, towel, or article of clothing that smells like home.
This should be something that can easily be washed, if needed, and something that you can live without, should your dog decide to chew on it. One or two comfort items can be very calming for a dog sleeping away from home.
For safety reasons, we DO NOT accept the following items:
Rawhide, rope toys, squeaker toys, or tennis balls.
