All dogs start with a Tryout Day
Before joining daycare, every dog participates in a tryout so we can evaluate behavior, temperament, and group fit. This ensures a safe, structured environment for every dog in our care.
More Than Daycare — It’s a Structured Program
Most daycare facilities are unstructured. Dogs run, play, and burn energy.
At DogJoy, we do things differently.
Our R.E.P.S. Program is built around four key elements:
Reinforce
We consistently reinforce manners and behavior throughout the day, not just during training sessions. Dogs practice:
- Sit, down, stay, and place
- Calm behavior around other dogs
- Focus on humans in high-distraction environments

Enrichment
Mental stimulation is just as important as physical activity. We incorporate:
- Training games
- Problem-solving activities
- Structured interaction that keeps dogs engaged

Is DogJoy Daycare the Right Fit?
Great Fit For Dogs Who:
- Enjoy being around other dogs and people
- Benefit from structure and activity
- Need both physical and mental stimulation
- Can handle a social, off-leash environment
Not the Best Fit For Dogs Who:
- Are highly reactive or aggressive
- Experience extreme stress in group settings
- Prefer isolation over interaction
(We may recommend training or alternative options instead.)
Not Your Typical Dog Daycare
Many daycare environments are:
- Loud
- Unstructured
- Overstimulating
DogJoy is built around:
- Structure and consistency
- Behavior reinforcement
- Balanced activity and rest
- Staff actively guiding behavior
Dogs don’t just burn energy, they use it to explore their world!
What You’ll Notice at Home
- Better listening and responsiveness
- Calmer behavior after daycare
- Improved social skills
- Reduced boredom and destructive behavior
- Increased confidence
DogJoy Daycare vs. Dog Parks vs. Typical Daycare
Not all “play” is the same. Here’s what actually happens in each environment.
DogJoy Daycare (R.E.P.S. Program)
- Structured, supervised environment
- Dogs grouped by size, temperament, and energy
- Good behavior is reinforced throughout the day
- Balanced schedule: play, enrichment, and rest
- Staff actively guiding interactions
- Focus on long-term behavior improvement
- Utilizes an outdoor play environment to engage natural exploration behaviors
Result: A dog that comes home calmer, more focused, and better behaved
Typical Dog Daycare
- Open play with limited structure
- Grouping may be inconsistent
- Focus is primarily on supervision, not behavior
- High stimulation, limited rest
- Minimal behavior reinforcement
- Frequently indoors, relying on an artificial play environment
Result: A tired dog, but often overstimulated and not necessarily better behaved
Dog Park
- No supervision or structure
- Unknown dogs and unpredictable behavior
- No grouping by temperament or energy
- No behavior guidance or intervention
- Higher risk of negative interactions
- No health or safety regulations, potentially exposing your dog to parasites and viruses
Result: Unpredictable experiences that can reinforce bad habits or unsafe behavior
Why This Matters for Your Dog
Not all play environments create positive outcomes.
Without structure, dogs can become overstimulated, practice bad habits, or develop poor social behaviors.
At DogJoy, R.E.P.S. ensures that your dog is not only active, but using their energy in a productive, healthy way.
That’s the difference between: a dog that’s just tired and a dog that’s actually improving.
